A one day mesmerising workshop was organised on 26thAugust, 2019 by the E-Cell Committee on Effective Communication, Soft Skills
and Goal Setting. Although these topics are a never ending and thought
provoking ones but our skilled guests in no time enlightened more than 100
students. First Session was conducted by Dr. Vaibhav Sabnis Sir who himself is
a lecturer and with his in-depth knowledge on the topic Effective Communication,
he not only made us understand its importance and usage but also conveyed his
experience on confidence building and fluency . Second Session was directed by
Mrs. Rashmeet Kaur Malhotra who was also a lecturer at renowned IBS University
Hyderabad and she guided students on Goal Setting and soft skills. This was not
a monotonous and tedious session but an engrossing one in which lots of interesting
activities were also conducted and she also explained the importance of time to
students and suggested them to manage their time wisely as well as effectively
. The enthusiasm of students was energetic and students got deep insight about
applying these skills in their academic and professional career.
SVKM’s NMIMS School of Commerce, Dhule Campus, organised a Poster Clash Competition across various colleges. The event was organised on 19th October, 2019. Overall 40 groups participated in this event. All the participants had to make posters on schemes of the central government as Digital India, Make in India, MNREGA, etc. The participants had to convey all the content in a simple but impressive way. The participants were tested on their Creativity, Knowledge and Presentation Skills. All the Posters were excellent and the efforts of the participants was worth appreciating. The event was enlightened and judged by the presence of Mr. Sachin Agrawal, CA. Vishnu Agrawal and Dr. Barkha Bafna. The winners of the Competition were:

This Competition was a wonderful event which
was organised by the E-Cell committee of School of Commerce. It was a fun and
learning process for the organisers as well as the participants. All
participants were full of enthusiasm and excitement.
Samvaad-A Literay Club conducted
an extempore competition, for BBA and B.Com Students of NMIMS, Dhule campus.
This competition was held on 21.09.2019. There were 36 participants in the
competition. The topics ranged from current affairs to political. The winner of
the competition was Farnandes Daltonof BBA II Yr III Sem and the runner was Hrithik
Mundra of B. Com (Hons) II Yr III Sem.
A one-day workshop on "Life Skills Development” organized by School of Commerce, NMIMS, Dhule which was held on 11th January 2020. Women Entrepreneurs, Academicians, Prominent personalities have participated in the workshop on the same day talk show was also organized for the students. Key speaker of the workshop were Prof. Vijai Nath Giri from IIT Kharagpur and Mrs. Meeta Shah, Senior psychologist and counselor. Prof. Giri has delivered his lectures on Negotiation, Delegation Skills and Conflict Management whereas Mrs. Meeta Shah has delivered lectures on Emotional Management. The program was started after the felicitation of the Guest and Saraswati vandana followed by NMIMS anthem. Campus Director at the beginning of the program have motivated the NMIMS team for their efforts for organizing this program, as the campus itself is in budding stage, after his few words of wisdom the program had begun. Mrs Meeta Shan in the first session of the program have discusses various types of stress handling, benefits of Yoga and positive thinking. She also had given the stress on eating habits and the benefits of being vegetarian, at the end of her session she has discussed the importance of seven chakras. She has discussed the suicidal tendencies of the youngsters and the reasons behind them and also answered the queries of the different personalities. Prof. Vijai Nath Giri from IIT Kharagpur have discussed the topic delegation, whom to delegate and how to delegate, he also discussed the importance of communication. He had discussed the importance of organizational culture and its impact on human behavior. He had also discussed at length the importance of negotiation and art of dealing with negotiation skills. The professionals and students were greatly benefitted from the workshop.
