EVENTS

a) Orientation (2018-19)

NMIMS University has always kept up with the changing times and has upgraded its syllabus and teaching methodologies so that the students are not only confident but are also ready to hold the bull by the horns when they face the real business situations. These were the words of Pro Vice-Chancellor of NMIMS, Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar at the orientation programme for the B.B.A and B.com (Hons) of School of Commerce (Dhule). He also mentioned that the Accreditation by NAAC with Grade A+ university status has been the result of the constant upgradation in course curriculum and advanced technology being implemented by NMIMS University. It will foster better placement to our meritorious students in India as well as abroad. The orientation program was honoured by the presence of renowned Entrepreneur Shri. Santosh Agarwal, former Vice Chancellor of North Maharashtra University, Dr. K. B. Patil, Director of NMIMS Shirpur Dr. R. S. Gaud and Dr. Sunny Oswal. The course details, student resource book (Rules and Regulations) were discussed and explained to the students by Dr. Sunny Oswal.

 

 

b) E-Cell

SVKM's NMIMS School of Commerce, Dhule Campus, organised a seminar on "Entrepreneurship Skills and Cyber Security" on the day when E- Cell was incorporated. Mr. Chitanya Bhandari, cyber law expert was invited to create awareness among the students regarding the illegal activities, misdoings and frauds committed on the internet. He made the students aware about all these malicious activities and also explained the punishment for these crimes. Second session was on entrepreneurship skills given by one of the most renowned businessman of the city Mr. Sangram Limaye. He told about changing business scenario and current trends and how to cope up with these changes. He also told the students about what skills a successful leader and entrepreneur possesses. Both the sessions left a lasting impact on hearts and minds of the students.

 
 
 

 

c) Poster- Clash

SVKM's NMIMS School of Commerce, Dhule Campus, organised a Poster Clash Competition across various colleges. The event was organised on 21st August, 2018. Overall 44 groups participated in this magnificent event. All the participants had to make posters on contemporary issues such as Cyber Crime, Women Empowerment, and Healthcare. The participants had to convey all the content in a simple but impressive way The participants were tested on their Creativity, Knowledge and Presentation Skills. All the Posters were excellent and the efforts of the participants was worth appreciating. The event was enlightened and judged by the presence of Mr. Vilas Chavan, Ms. Sunanda and Dr. Neeta Biyani. The winners of the Competition were: 

1st Rank : Sara Patel & Meghal Jambhale (IOT) (The Unseen Side of Indian Democracy)

2nd Rank: Shreejita Kunda & Payal Gaijghate (IOP) (Phubbing) 

3RD Rank: Shivani Sharma & Divya Borse (IOT) (Global Warming) 

This Competition was the very first event organised by the School of Commerce. It was a fun and learning process for the organisers as well as the participants. All participants were full of enthusiasm and excitement. NMIMS School of Commerce is looking forward to organising more such events for overall development of its students.

 
 
 
 

 

d) Annual Day

An annual cultural summit organised by NMIMS SCHOOL OF COMMERCE DHULE in collaboration with INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY (IOP) FIESTA unleashed the cultural zeal of the students through wonderful performances of many enthusiastic contestants. It was a amazing platform for students to unite and showcase their talent while leaving a great impact on participants as well as the audience. 
The cultural committee SYNFLAIR of NMIMS SOC DHULE was launched during this event. 

NMIMS SOC secured 1st position in fashion show and secured 2nd position in group dance. 

We at NMIMS always encourage our students towards cultural activities and events as we believe that such events foster unity and also help in preserving our rich cultural heritage.

 
 
 
 

 

e) Sports Event

SVKM's NMIMS School of Commerce and SVKM's Institute of Pharmacy conducted a sports event on 25, 26 and 27th April, 2019 under the guidance of CA Kunal Pasari (faculty in-charge of NMIMS School of Commerce) and >Mrs Girija (faculty in-charge of Institute of Pharmacy). We conducted numerous indoor and outdoor sports activities. A few of them were 100m race, skipping race, chess competition, carrom, shot put, elocution, relay race, three legged race, etc. We are very proud to say that students of NMIMS School of Commerce not only actively participated in these events but also became winners in following categories. Arpita Parwal of B.COM (HONS) was declared the best sports girl and Keshav Vijay of BBA was declared as the best sports boy. Also, students of School of Commerce Shrey Shah, Dalton Fernandes, Arpita Porwal, Saumya Singh, Keshav Vijay, Shivani Dongre bagged top honours in some categories.

 
 

 

f) Euphoria (An Inter College Event)

More than 100 teams from 6 colleges in and around Dhule participated with huge enthusiasm."Euphoria 2019" event was organized by The E-Cell committee on 2nd March, 2019 to explore and hone the entrepreneurial skills among students. The program comprised of two sub-events: Quizzera and Management Games. 

The objective of Quizzera was to test the general awareness and knowledge of the students whereas management games objective was to build team work and leadership qualities. 

 Quizzera consisted of 3 rounds and 41 teams participated in this event. The first round was the MCQ round. In the first round each team had to solve 40 questions in 30 minutes. From the first round Top 20 teams qualified to 2nd round. The second round was about identifying the personalities displayed on the screen within stipulated time period. Top 6 teams were sent to the third round. The third round was the buzzer round and consisted of 3 stages in which the first stage was to Identify the logo, the second was to Identify the Company from its audio advertisement and the third was to Identify the Product from its visual advertisement. Top 3 teams were awarded and the remaining 3 teams were handed over the consolation prizes. An audience round was also conducted for which consolation prizes were given to those audience members who answered the questions correctly. 

 The second competition was Game-O-Flix (Management Games) in which 54 teams participated. It also consisted of 3 rounds. The first round was "JAM". In this round, each team had to complete 3 tasks- picture puzzle, cross-word puzzle and blowing and bursting of balloons. Top 24 teams qualified for the second round Chakravyuh. For this round a team of 4 was formed by merging 2 teams and in this way 12 teams competed for qualifying to the final round. In this round a Chakravyuh of rope was formed with a small opening to come out of it. 3 members of each team were placed inside it, who were blind folded and 4th member had to guide them out of the Chakravyuh though the small opening using nonverbal cues and sounds. The top 6 teams qualified for the last round Scavenger Hunt. In this task the teams had to decode the clues and using this locate the objects, persons and locations. The top 3 teams who completed the task in lesser time were declared as the winners and the remaining 3 teams were handed over the consolation prizes
